Abstract

This thesis deals with occupational health and safety (OHS) checklists used in the building and construction industry. First, it describes project documentation of the proposed building works and then it deals with safety and protection of health issues affecting construction workers. This thesis describes evaluation of risks, preparation of OHS plans, the content of such plans and corresponding checklists. It also includes a financial budget and construction time schedules. The aim of this work is to create occupational health and safety checklists, both for the initial preparatory phase of construction and the actual building work. This thesis can be useful for identification, avoidance and reduction of risks encountered at building sites and may lead to overall improvements to safety at work.
