Abstract

The aim of this thesis is to characterize human rights in general and describe in detail the economic and social rights. To describe the mechanisms and tools that are used to enforce compliance and how commited the European Union and the United Nations are to enforce these rights. The practical part is an assessment of compliance of selected economic and social rights by using selected indicators and evaluation of the meeting of Millenium Development Goals.
