Abstract

The bachelor’s thesis fully deals with the problem of the disposal of old mines after the mining activity using an example of the former ore mine Důl Vítězství in the cadastral area of Horní Kalná, including the final land reclamation and the return thereof to its quasi-original state. The thesis is concerned with the legislative definition of the term “mine”, classification thereof, the method of notification for the inclusion thereof in the national register, as well as with the method of securing thereof in terms of safety etc. As for the disposal methods and the securing of abandoned old mines, the thesis describes in detail the principles of the disposal of shaft mines (e.g. pit mines) with the help of backfilling, and with the help of reinforced concrete closure slabs; the thesis also fully describes the disposal methods for horizontal mines, mining chambers, and sinkholes by filling the spaces with a special certified filling mixture with the prescribed strength and leaching properties etc. The task of securing of the affected area involves several mining activities, such as earthworks, surveying, drilling, founding. In the course of the work, knowledge from the field of remediation and contaminant hydrogeology, as well as geophysical methods of measurement for the determination of the exact position and localization of the mines were used. In conclusion, the ascertained knowledge, gained in the course of the work, is summarized – among other things the problem of solving and preventing complications while dealing with the administrative authorities, land owners, and the problem of protection of the environment affected by the disposal and remedial activity, which I managed and supervised methodically in my capacity of senior employee.
