Abstract

This thesis deals with the position of the United Kingdom in the European integration. The United Kingdom is a country with a very specific attitude towards the European Union, and this attitude is also reflected in its relationship. This area of European integration is very interesting and currently gets a new dimension because of the potential withdrawal of the United Kingdom from the European Union. The aim of this thesis is the evaluation of the current status and future prediction of the development of the relationship of the United Kingdom and the European Union. Special attention is also focused on the negotiation process for accession to the European Economic Community, and subsequently to the European Communities in the 70s of the 20th century.
