Abstract

This thesis deals with network interface virtualization. Nowadays, these interfaces are commonly used in server techhnologies. These interfaces are moving from IPv4 protocol to IPv6 protocol. The first part of this thesis is theoretical part of Virtual Ethernet Bridging technology. I will also explain different ways of attach and configuration of these virtual interfaces. Another part explains the possibility of using Linux containers as they become a competition to typical virtualizaton of whole operating system. The practical part of this thesis will cover configuration of virtual interfaces on virtual containers using Linux operating system. My effort is to check different network settings for virtual stations using IPv6 protocol. I would like to suggest appropriate solution for capability of connecting from outside LAN to virtual stations with virtual network interface cards, which are virtual stations behind the physical network card. I will have to do a several tests of different approaches to network virtualization.
