Abstract

The aim of the present thesis is to analyse the intercultural differences in the utilization of the public bike service (BiZi) in Spain and Czech Republic comparing the example of Zaragoza with the Czech city Ostrava. The introductory chapter makes an overview of each city and explain the principles of the presented revolutionary transport service, the BiZi. It makes also a reference to international marketing concepts and it explains in short the character of transport services. The second part of the present work compares the utilization of the particular bicycle in both cities and analyse the public service BiZi. To analyse the intercultural differences two primary quantitative researches were made through personal interviews. The results were analysed using the statistic program SPSS. The questions made were focus in the general use of the bicycles and also in specific details of the service BiZi for each city. In the study made in Zaragoza it was investigated the users satisfaction and the frequency of use. The results achieved in Ostrava shows that people are receptive for such system. The users in Zaragoza are largely satisfied with the service showing that they use the own bicycles and the public service bicycles with high frequency. The implementation of the BiZi service in Ostrava would result in a decrease of the air pollution among and many other benefits and therefore 60% of the inquired people recommend it.
