Abstract
Clay plaster is again applying for long periods of pause not only in old buildings,
but especially in new buildings. This effect is greatly caused by interest in environmental structures and natural materials from the experts and also from ordinary users.
A considerable disadvantage of clay plasters and other products from unburnt clay is poor exterior durability and in contact with water in a liquid state, which leads to leaching of the clay product part. Diploma thesis deals with the modification of clay plasters by hydrophobic agents based on silicates. The purpose of such intervention is to improve the durability of these plasters and extending their applications in the interior as well as exterior, while typical advantageous properties are maintained (especially humidity control).
