Vladislav Křivda, Ph.D. The aim of the work is to analyze road safety at the intersection Hlavni – Mesnicka – Osvobozeni – Zahradkarska in Vresina (Ostrava-city district) and the adequacy of current arrangements. In the first part there is a description of the current state and traffic signs at the intersection. In the thesis there are included the results of the traffic survey, traffic forecast for the prospective year, capacity calculations, traffic accidents, and video-analysis of conflict situations. Furthermore, there are alternative proposals for modifications of intersection. It is about design of 3-leg mini-roundabout and design of 4-leg roundabout. Thesis also includes simulation models in the program PTV VISSIM.
