Abstract

The exploration of the new deposit of high percentage limestones Kamenný Vrch and the verification of the possibility of mining this deposit brought the idea to verify the possibility of deep mining of high percentage limestones. In the historical context, limestone mining in the Morina area was carried out in a underground mining method. The Kamenný Vrch deposit itself is accessed by the Severní překop, which was used for mining in the past. The task is to find a suitable mining method, including its optimisation for the conditions of the deposit. The thesis deals with the calculation of total reserves of the deposit, analysis of the rock mass, comparison of methods used for rock mass classification, safety of work during underground mining and the economic aspect of the mining method. On the basis of these results and by comparison with the results obtained from the field work, a suitable mining method was selected.
