Migrační trendy v Evropské unii a problém multikulturalismu

Abstract

Cílem této diplomové práce bylo zhodnotit uplatňování politiky multikulturalismu v EU a poukázat na to, že se stal velmi náročným a diskutabilním tématem. Stanovený cíl jsem realizovala v rámci třech kapitol, ve kterých jsem se zabývala jak obecnými otázkami multikulturality a legislativními východisky pro její uplatňování, tak i konkrétními migračními pohyby, které závažnost multikulturalismu ovlivňují. V první kapitole jsem se zabývala teoretickými základy multikulturalismu, jeho definicí, vznikem, vývojem a různými přístupy států k integraci cizinců. Kapitola je doplněna charakteristikou politiky multikulturalismu v neevropských zemích. Druhá kapitola je obsahově věnována legislativním základům EU regulujících volný pohyb pracovníků, volný pohyb osob a závěr této kapitoly je zaměřen na imigrační a azylovou politiku Unie. Třetí kapitola vymezuje migrační trendy minulé i současné a zároveň otevírá problém neregulérní migrace a otázku její regularizace. Je zde také uveden můj názor na budoucnost multikulturalismu v evropských podmínkách a vysvětlen možný přínos k řešení těchto otázek v rámci Evropského roku mezikulturního dialogu.

The aim of this thesis was to evaluate the application of multiculturalism policy in EU and show that it has become very demanding and debatable subject. I have fulfilled the defined aim within the frame of three chapters, in which I have delt with general questions of multiculturalism, legislative bases for its application and specific migratory movements affecting the relevance of multiculturalism as well. In the first chapter I have focused on theoretical principles of multiculturalism, its definition, rise, progress and different attitudes of states to integration of foreigners. The characteristics of multiculturalism policy in non-European states is included in the chapter as well. The second chapter is devoted to EU legislative bases regulating free movement of workers and people. The end of this part focuses on immigration and asylum policy of EU. The third chapter defines past and present migratory trends and opens problem of irregular migration and its legalization as well. I have also introduced my opinion of multiculturalism in future in european conditions and have explained possible solution of these questions in terms of European year of intercultural dialogue.
