Abstract

In today's hectic times, it is important to have a minimum view of privacy, partly on the grounds of general awareness of the best way to protect your information from misuse, and also to be aware of how to use the personal data of someone else and not to get in conflict with the Act on Personal Data Protection. The thesis consists of five chapters. The first and the last chapter provides an introduction and conclusion. The second chapter describes the characteristics of personal data protection. The third chapter is aimed at protecting personal data in engineering company BADEN Ltd. and the fourth chapter deals with the survey of personal data protection. In my thesis I have set two goals. The first goal is to find out how BADEN Engineering Company Ltd. is processing personal data in the context of labour relations in accordance with the Act on Personal Data Protection. The second aim of this thesis is the survey which focuses on a general overview of personal data protection among entrepreneurs. During my working on this thesis, I found out that the engineering company is handling its personal information as defined in the Act on Personal Data Protection. In addition, when evaluating the research I came to the conclusion that entrepreneurs have a general overview of personal data and its protection.
