Abstract

The main focus of this work is the radiometric measurements on waste piles of mining work of the former state-owned corporation, and his JD Jachymov geological prospecting division Kutaci prace III in the Krkonose-Jizera krystalinikum. JD Jachymov explored and mined in the Jizera Mountains and Krkonose Mountains more than 20 locations, most of which are part of the category of small uranium ore deposits. To locate these locations in a mountain terrain, it was necessary to investigate archive materials from JD Jachymov stored in the archive of DIAMO corporation in Straz pod Ralskem. The main aim of this work is to objectively rate the potential risk of residues of mine works for the environment and inhabitants of these popular mountainous areas
