Abstract

The water-work (dam) Švihov (known also under the name „Želivka“) is the biggest reservoir of drinking water in Czech Republic. It feeds by drinking water the region of Central Bohemia and above all our capital – city of Prague. The distance between the dam and Prague is almost 51 km. A preliminary treated water is from Želivka to Prague gravitative transported (almost the in its full length) by underground tunnel feeder. This bachelor thesis describes: - decisions that preceded the water-conduit tunnel construction, - way of tunneling, - water-work erection, which was realized in several localities different from geologic point of view, - today´s operation & maintenance of tunnel feeder, other constructions and technologies
