Abstract

The presented thesis is focused on the development of a vibration viscometer which is operating on the principle of electromagnetic levitation. In this context, numbers of experiments to the monitoring of selected properties of the device were performed. The aim was to create a database providing information on the influence of variables on the exactness and measurement range. For these purposes three standard oils with different viscosity and analytically pure glycerin were used. In the first part of experiments stability of the device was tested under different conditions (geometric parameters of the sampler, the amplitude of oscillation of the measurement system, the temperature of electronic parts) and then calibration measurements were realized. In the last part of experiments effect of changes in fluid density on viscosity values obtained by tested device was studied . The obtained results were processed to predict the possibility of application of the viscometer for laboratory research purposes, or for technical application.
