Abstract
The bachelor thesis focuses on the composite material diamond copper. The main focus of the theoretical part is the description of the preparation of the interface of the composite material due to the poor wettability of copper and diamond between each other and the technology of the material production itself. Furthermore, the basic characteristics of the material and a description of the factors that affect the thermal conductivity, thermal expansion, elasticity and plasticity of the material are discussed. It also mentions the current use of the material and its possible future applications. The experimental part dealt with the determination of the chemical composition of two different material samples, the determination of the diamond to metal matrix ratio, the identification of the coating on the diamond surface and the determination of basic material-specific thermomechanical properties. Finally, heat treatment was applied in order to remove internal stress from production. The results provided information on the effect of heat treatment on the strength of the material, the effect of composition on the thermal conductivity and thermal expansion of the material.
