Abstract
This thesis deals with a change in legal status of animals in the Czech legal order and its impact on property right. The regulations de lege lata and de lege ferenda are compared. There are also the consequences deduced that the change causes not merely to the owners of the animals raised for profit as well as pets. This thesis is especially concerned with the limitation of property right through a live animal forfeiture or its detention in private relationships, a compensation for the damage, an executory live animal impoundment and the issue of abandonment or loss of the animal. The possible difficulties that come with amended Civil Code are pointed out. This thesis is structured into seven chapters.
