Abstract

A master thesis Development of Moravskoslezský den after 1989 is about local peridocal press called Moravskoslezský den and monitores its development from 1989 until today. The first chapter is about history of the press in czech environment. There are mentioned all the important moments which influenced czech media from 1918 till the end of communism era. The second chapter describes transformation of press after Velvet revolution. It defines the most important steps of transformation such as privatization or legalization process which had to be made for democratization of media in Czech republic. It also describes impact of this change for local media. The third chapter is focused on specific local press Moravskoslezský den, later known as Moravskoslezský deník, which is part of Vltava-Labe-Press publishing. This chapter tracks holding relations, formal changes of this press and also its position in competition. The aim of this master thesis is to describe the development of Moravskoslezský den. Not only historical background and transformation process have to be considerated. The biggest influence about Moravskoslezský den had mostly foreign holders and investors.
