Postoj EU k otázkám liberalizace zemědělského obchodu ve WTO

Abstract

The aim of the thesis is characterize the nature and progres of the Doha Development Round, which priorities and compromise proposals promoted by the European Union and to evaluate potencial impacts of the multilateral round of EU agricultural trade.

The second chapter is concerned with the specification of the overall trade policy. Based on the explanation of the nature of trade policie are introduced their theoretical concepts. Further arguments are evaluated of two concepts of trade policy. Particular attention is paid to the functioning of the WTO within liberalization of world trade which connected to the General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade.

The third chapter defines the role of the European Union in world trade. Subsequently it is describe a development, main objectives and instruments of the Common Commercial Policy. Another part charts the course of the previous meeting of the Ministrerial Conferences on the Development Round with an emphasis on problem areas. Finally, main priorities and compromise proposals are listed which the European Union puts forward for the successful conclusion of the Doha round.

The aim of the fourth chapter is to introduce comprehensive agricultural sector of the European Union based on macroeconomic indicators. An integral part of the chapter is to define the prospects of the Doha Developent Round which focus on the EU agricultural trade. It is process an analysis of potential benefits and losses for the EU agricultural sector.
