Abstract

The thesis analyzes the changes in geological reserves and the development of the mine production of the most important minerals in the Czech Republic after 1989. Over the past years, the extraction of metallic ores and some other minerals has been terminated, energy mineral production has declined sharply, and the reserves of these minerals have decreased because of fundamental political and economic changes in both the Czech Republic and the rest of the world. However in the case of some industrial minerals, production and changes in reserves declined more moderately or, even on the contrary, grew. The main source of information and data included in the thesis is based on the long-term systematic collection, processing, evaluation and interpretation of data from state statistical surveys, the results of geological projects and from personal research at mining companies.
