Abstract
The issue of this work is focused on hydrogen as an alternative fuel for cars. At the beginning of the thesis, hydrogen is introduced as a candidate for a suitable replacement of currently used fossil fuels. Subsequently, thesis figures out the production, storage and application possibilities in transportation. There is analysis of options how hydrogen could be utilized in cars and their practical advantages and disadvantages.
Content of the experimental part is focused on metal hydride, which serves as one of the options for future hydrogen storage. The practical part includes the preparation of MgFe -based hydride, structural analysis and hydrogen amount analysis. The measured results are compared with the MgNi-based hydride prepared and analysed in previous study.
