Abstract

The aim of this thesis is to choose the most convenient home contents insurance product for the household of Mr. N. The thesis consists of three parts. The first two parts are theoretical, the third one is practical. The first part focuses on a list of basic terminology to get acquainted with insurance industry. This is followed by a basic description of life insurance, a more detailed description of non-life insurance and the characteristics of home contents insurance. At the end of this part there is also a description of the decision-making process based on various criteria. The methods used for the comparison of home contents insurance products are introduced as well. The second part deals with first the characteristics and then the products of three insurance companies chosen for the comparison. In the third part the actual comparison of their individual products can be found and subsequently the selection of the best product for home contents insurance for the household of Mr. N. is made.
