Abstract

The diploma thesis deals with the topic Smart Quarantine from a perspective of Personal Data Protection. The aim of the thesis is to characterize and evaluate this new project in the Czech Republic. In theoretical part of the thesis, there is a history of personal data protection determined and relevant legal regulation in both European and Czech area introduced. In practical part, there are initiation legal regulation of European Union described, based on which the Smart Quarantine has been created. Further, an analysis of this new project in the Czech area is provided aiming at requested personal data in the frame of particular tools of Smart Quarantine; a legal authorization, based on which this information is being obtained and processed and a request for consent of personal data subject is considered. In conclusion, there is all main and additional knowledge and information summarized creating a complex evaluation of given topic. By the author of the diploma thesis, the fundamental problem lies in a request for consent given by personal data subject based on the article 7 of the Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016 and its possible impacts.
