Abstract

The doctoral thesis deals with the issue of the world trade aspects of Russian economic policy with a particular focus on mineral resources. This focus corresponds also the aim of the thesis, which is to identify the importance of the primary sector, respectively mining and quarrying mineral resources for the Russian economy, with a special focus on foreign trade. In this context, quantify the impact of the export of mineral resources to the level of the manufacturing industry in Russia using a regression model of Dutch disease and outline mechanisms that would allow overcoming the dependence of the Russian economy on the export of mineral resources. The main part of the thesis includes clarification of the characteristics of the Russia's economic policy. In this context, it is also clarified factor abundance of Russian economy taking into account the dominant element of the Russian economy, which is the fuel-energy complex. On this issue then leads clarification Dutch disease, then there to build a regression model of Dutch disease in terms of the Russian economy. By means of a regression model are investigated two negative theoretical effects of Dutch disease, spending effect and resource movement effect. Part of the doctoral thesis is also a performance of their own proposals and recommendations that would both allow increasing the level of diversification of the Russian economy, and also helped to modernize the Russian economy. The main results of the thesis includes clarification of the significance and importance of the primary sector for the Russian economy and Russian foreign trade, on the finding that the Russian economy is competitive only in exports of mineral resources and last but not least the consequence if the main effect of the Dutch disease within Russia.
