Abstract
Bachelor thesis focuses on the comparison of the results provided by the simplest construction of the two-armed Mach-Zehnder interferometer and a normally used seismic station type Gaia 2T (ViGeo2) in the field of rail transport. Seismic stations are used in the rail transport to monitor the influence of the traffic on the surrounding buildings and rock massif, interferometric sensor could be used as an inexpensive alternative to the seismic station. The aim of this thesis is to describe the basic knowledge from the field of fiber optics and, in practice, to design and construct a functioning sample of the chosen type of interferometric sensor based on phase modulation of light. In the practical part of the thesis are described performed comparative measurements realized as a part of the practical measurements of the rail transport in the town Ostrava and the fundamental output is an analysis of recorded signals in the time and frequency domain. Obtained findings could serve as a foundation for the development of utilization of the fiber optic sensor conception for seismic application.
