Abstract

This thesis focuses on data analysis through a Business Intelligence solution based on the methodology of Ralph Kimball. The aim of the thesis is to design and implement an efficient data warehouse that enables systematic analysis of business data using the Talend Open Studio for Data Integration tool.

The thesis is divided into theoretical and practical parts. The theoretical part deals with the principles of dimensional modeling and the importance of fact and dimension tables. It also describes the basics of ETL processes and their role within a BI solution.

The practical part focuses on the design and implementation of a specific data warehouse solution. It describes the individual phases of implementation – from data acquisition and transformation, through the creation of a dimensional model, to the population of fact tables and the creation of relationships between them. The result is a functional BI solution that supports data analysis and report generation. The outcomes of the thesis are presented using Power BI, where key metrics monitored by the organization are visualized.
