Abstract

The thesis provides an overview of the possible use of rock pillar as a power source for hot supply water warming and building heating processes. In the first part, sources of geothermal energy are divided into individual variations and subsequently characterized. The basic resources’ subdivisions are carried out according to the energy potential into high-potential and low-potential. In the second part, the advantages and disadvantages of each source option are introduced with reference to their practical use. The last part refers to operational experience of realized resource systems at selected locations. This section is dedicated to low-potential resources only by means of heat pumps. The implemented systems of the heat pumps are defined together with experience of the owners with the individual operation.
