Abstract

“Sociální zodpovědnost firem” is a literal translation of the English term “Corporate Social Responsibility” (CSR). Currently, the term “Corporate Social Responsibility” is not only used by companies around the world, but also in the Czech Republic. Despite the fact that the main goal of companies is to maximize their profits, their conduct should be socially responsible when achieving this. Following the CSR concept is beneficial for companies, as it brings many advantages, especially competitive advantage and non-financial benefits. By acting socially responsibly, a company creates space for sustaining and making new market positions in the future. In my bachelor´s work I have focused on the attitude of mining companies towards CSR in the Ústí Region, especially in the environmental area.
