Abstract

This thesis in its theoretical part evaluates the current methods of unusable drugs waste management and summarizes the existing legal regulations, methods unusable drugs waste management in the Czech Republic and also compares the legislation in other countries. The practical part provides the results of two surveys and a proposal for a methodical instruction on the collection of unused medicinal products and their waste management. It also includes the possibilities of recycling or processing of the waste product so that it can be further used. All of these procedures are designed to avoid environmental or human health or animal health risks, while at the same time using environmentally friendly practices that mitigate the economic impact of wasting drugs and their often unnecessary liquidation.
