Abstract

ODCHODNICKÁ, Andrea. Adaptation of Rail Transport to Climate Change. Thesis, Ostrava: VŠB – Technical University of Ostrava, Faculty of safety engeneering, 2017, 41 stran The bachelor thesis is focused on possible impacts of climate change expressions to rail transport and the possibility of adaptation in this area of interest. Introductory part contains definition of climate change, and expressions related thereto. The next section is an overview of the potential hazards that could have a negative impact on this type of transport.This checklist is followed by what-if analysis, which simulates various scenarios of events. According to this analysis is prepared a draft of possible adaptation measures that would help reduce or eliminate the possible consequences of each risk.
