Porovnanie spotrebiteľského úveru s leasingom na slovenskom trhu

Abstract

The aim of this bachelor’s thesis is to compare financing through a consumer loan and leasing on the Slovak market, while the subject of the investment is a new passenger car intended for business use. The comparison is carried out using the Net Present Value method, simplified to the present value of expenditures and the lease coefficient. The theoretical part of the thesis focuses on defining the basic concepts related to consumer loans and leasing, their legal definition, as well as describing their current development in Slovakia. It also presents the cash flows associated with the individual forms of investment financing and the present value of expenditures method, which is subsequently applied in the practical part. The practical part is dedicated to the comparison of specific financing offers for the selected investment through a consumer loan, finance lease, and operating lease provided by two of the largest banks operating in the Slovak Republic. Based on the obtained results, differences between financing through a consumer loan and leasing are identified, with particular emphasis on their financial advantages and other factors influencing the investor’s decision-making process.
