Abstract

The woodchip-processing method for electric energy generation while using the technology of multistage gassing is described in the theoretical part of this diploma thesis. A description of a specific multistage gassing process performed by a generator coded GP750, which is based in a power plant in Kozomin, is an important part of the theoretical chapter. The experiments described in the practical part of this thesis were performed in there. The practical part of the diploma thesis focuses on the following. Firstly, it identifies the extent of woodchip humidity. Secondly, it identifies the ideal woodchip size for the gassing generator GP750. Thirdly, it analyses the chemical composition of the generator’s fumes and defines the content of tar in the fumes. The most important of all, however, is the efficiency assessment of the input fuel’s transformation into electrical energy. The results of performed experiments are presented in the thesis as well as their assessment and a discussion. There is a proposal of an arrangement for the specific technology of the Kozomin Power Plant which is stated in the last chapter.
