Abstract
This thesis deals with an analysis of available alternative technologies on the Czech market in the first quarter of 2011. The main aspect which is analyzed is the emission of carbon dioxide produced by cars using alternative technologies in context of those burning petrol and diesel. The first section lists individual alternative technologies with their description. The next section contains comparison of cars using various alternative technologies among themselves from the point of view of emission of carbon dioxide, cost per 1 km and economic return. In the following section these cars are compared with cars using conventional technologies. The next section is focused on the analysis of renewable resources which can be used in the car transportation in view of their potential and sustainability. The last section outlines possible tools which could be used to support the alternative technologies.
