Abstract

This diploma thesis addresses an effective way to achieve business goals at a bank branch. The aim of the work was to find an effective method that would not only require traditional methods, such as autocratic management to achieve business goals, but much more effective methods. To design a more effective method, an in-depth interview with seven branch managers in the Ostrava region was chosen, including a questionnaire survey, which each of these managers completed as a respondent. The research was supplemented by own observations, as well as an evaluation of the fulfillment of previous plans, including an analysis of future developments based on regression analysis. The results show that the proposed solution in the environment of the bank's branch may be the Balanced Scorecard method, which proved to be desirable for the managers of the surveyed branches. The proposed solution has a specific form for managing the bank's business objectives in the form of meeting the metrics that are necessary for each member of the bank's branch team, including the managers themselves.
