Abstract

This work on theme „Study of Effect of Steel Casting Boundary Conditions on Clogging of Casting Powder into Ingot Body“ describes the steel casting, steel solidification and the formation of defects. The theoretical part is devoted to the description of ingot casting and origination of defects. Furthermore, the work is focused on the evaluation of steel microstructure and on the analysis of world knowledge from the field of boundary conditions of steel ingots casting of with the intention to minimize the steel contamination by casting powder. The practical part deals with the evaluation of metallographic analyses of steel samples from forging and then follows a numerical modelling of the filling of the ingot with a weight 50 tons in ProCAST program. The results of the numerical modelling graphically show the character of the initial filling of the ingots and the clogging of the casting powder at different casting speed.
