Abstract
The main purpose of this thesis was to design and implement equipment for measuring the numerical aperture of optical fibers. Subsequently with this device was measured the numerical aperture of optical fiber available in a configuration with a source of optical radiation in the form of LEDs and laser diodes in the laboratory. In the first part, therefore, in the first part of the thesis describes the general problem of numerical aperture optical fiber. That issue is based on the optical transmission medium and the principle of propagation of light in optical fibers.
