Abstract

The aim of this thesis is the description of the introduction of implementation of a geographic information system in company Havířovská teplárenská společnost, a.s. Thesis is focused on the specific implementation of geographic information system in terms of heating company. The thesis is focused on the most interesting part, which is the area of data acquisition, because the company used the technology of distance research of the ground and provided data about infrastructure elements of the above-ground elements in order to generate georeferenced orthophotos, and also thermal shots of underground elements of the grid. Heating companies, in comparison with gas suppliers, electricity or water, have an advantage consist in the fact that the heat transfer medium is possible under favorable conditions, which include weather conditions, properly selected vegetation period and snow cover providing thermal contrast surrounding, to map thermal technology also with using aerial photography. The project took advantage primarily of the acquisition of topographic data for secondary distribution of heating networks, where were digitized piping systems lied in the landscape. The project was assessed as successful and currently the system is used internally across the technical divisions users of different departments, and also to provide data to external applicants for technical data infrastructure company.
