Abstract

The aim of the theoretical section of this thesis was to carry out a research in the domain of processing, saving and representation of the spatio-temporal data. A further analysis of the particular problematics led to smaller partial tasks. In the first part, the work deals with the components of the spatio-temporal data. This section characterizes a role of the time part in the domain of geoinformatics and it specifies problems connected with this part. It also focuses on the space part and possibilities of saving it. Further on, the work deals with the ways of visualization of the spatio-temporal data. Based on acquired knowledge, the work focuses on web visualization tools, adapted for three-dimensional data. The acquired information from this section of the thesis represent the theoretical base necessary for creating a functional web application. The practical aim of this work was to create the three-dimensional web scene presenting the historical development of the area of interest. Moreover, the practical aspect of the thesis is focused on the historical research, chosen area of interest, complex of VŠB – TUO in Poruba. The historical data compose a basic building stone of the final visualization. Furthermore, the practical section deals with chosen technologies, their further characteristics and justification of the choice. The description of loading the database and its structure follow. Since it deals with dynamical type of database in which the data change its actual state in time, the logical step was to work out a methodology of the actualization and maintaining the space database. It should be helpful for future maintaining of the system. The conclusion of the thesis focuses on the functionality and properties of the final web application.
