Abstract

The main subject of this thesis is Czech Republic Monetary Policy. The thesis is divided into three main parts. The part one contains definitions of the basic terms relating to monetary policy and supply of money. The part two, which is mainly focused on the role of The Czech State Bank, also includes analysis of the transparency of The Czech State Bank research. The third and main part includes analysis of the supply of money, monetary policy tools used in the period from 1993 to 2008 and Czech economy progress in this period. The thesis will also elaborate on the current world financial crisis and its impact on Czech economy. The final part of the thesis includes research results, conclusion and suggestions for improvement
