Abstract

This work deals with the risk of explosion in bucket elevators. In the first part of the thesis, describes concepts such as explosion parameters and all the requirements on both the manufacturer and the operator of bucket elevators are summarized. Further, there are mentioned methods dealing with the risk of explosion in bucket elevators in Germany or the United States. The next section describes transport systems with the focus on bucket elevators, and the malting process that affects the explosion parameters of malt. In the final part of the paper, the measurement results are evaluated and the proposed algorithm for the determination of zones in the bucket elevator is described.
