Abstract
The aim of this bachelor thesis is to find out the trends of economic and demographic development and their interconnection within two regions of the Czech Republic, namely Moravian-Silesain and Usti regions. These territorial unites were selected on the basis of similar industrial ground, historic migration of population and both are often named as problematic regions. The most important part is the comparison of regions and confirmation or refutation the existence of interconnection between population and economic indexes. The indexes of Moravian-Silesian region show for example the higher level of GDP per person, lower rate of unemployment, higher decrease of population or higher level of education in comparison with Usti region.
