Abstract

The aim of this diploma thesis is to verify possibilities of the iron fraction recovery from the steelmaking slag produced by basic oxygen processes during the production of primary raw steel. In the theoretical introduction, basic oxygen processes during which a significant amount of waste steelmaking slag is produced are described. The other half of the theoretical part gives information about main characteristics of the steelmaking slag, its possible use and further describes various recovery methods of the metal fraction, especially the iron fraction. The practical part aims to verify the possibilities and effectiveness of one of the selected recovery method through laboratory experiments and also through plant trials in operating conditions.
