Databáze brownfieldů v ostravských čtvrtích Přívoz a Hrušov

Abstract

The main focus of my diploma thesis is the creation of so called passports (site information cards) and the subsequent registration of brownfields in two municipal districts of the city of Ostrava, i.e. in Přívoz and Hrušov. Brownfields ascertained in these districts were recorded into the public database on the website of the COBRAMAN project. The first part of my thesis contains research summarising available information on brownfields in general, and then specifically on Ostrava brownfield databases. A presentation of the COBRAMAN project is also included in this research part. My thesis then goes on to provide a characteristic of the localities under scrutiny and introduces the two districts, Přívoz and Hrušov, in more detail. Their history and the aspects limiting the use of land in both of them are described. This part presents the field investigation of the districts and comprises a summary of all accessible information on the identified brownfields, creation of brownfield cards, placing of the cards on the website of the COBRAMAN project, and own photographic documentation of all of the localities. This practical part of my thesis also offers a brownfield typology set up for the municipal districts of Přívoz and Hrušov.

Part of the diploma thesis is also formed by a created interactive map which displays all of the brownfields found. It is possible to open a hypertext link for each of the brownfields and view information and photographs available for that locality. This map may serve as study material for students in the program of the European School for Technical Brownfields Redevelopment.
