Design of User Interfaces

Abstract

The purpose of this bachelor thesis is to make a manual for people, who has never met with user interfaces. The guide provides an overview of what the user interface is, how this area is used in the life of web and application designers, and the basics of creating user interfaces. It includes a historical overview of the development of graphical user interfaces since the idea that communication with a computer can be user-friendly, up to the current state we know and work with every day. Further, the thesis describes the importance of mental models and ways of working with them. The work will also bring you into the world of graphical user interface design, the world of choice and color psychology, and also the world of typography, which are elements that help create a nice interface look.
