Abstract

This bachelor’s thesis deals with reclamation in the context of corporate social responsibility. The thesis focuses on the necessity of reclaiming erstwhile mining areas in connection with the efforts of Sokolovská uhelná, právní nástupce, a.s. to actively assume social responsibility for its activities. The aim of this thesis is to provide a survey of all of the company’s activities in the area of reclaiming a mining-affected environment. Primarily, it intends to introduce projects whose secondary purpose is to be used by the general public living nearby the locality in concern. Theoretical background is presented to a lesser extent as greater emphasis is put on the practical application of appropriate nature reclamation procedures. Above all, the thesis is centered on comparing the previous existence or non-existence of mining in the region in question.
