Abstract

This thesis focuses on the process of extracting stone blocks, examining their properties, parameters, and other relevant criteria. It concentrates on the specific mining site Dubenecký Sandstone, describing its geological characteristics, history, and the current state of sandstone extraction. Furthermore, it introduces an innovative method of quarrying sandstone using a large-diameter circular saw, which allows for more efficient and environmentally friendly extraction. The thesis also discusses the use of this method abroad and its potential application in the Czech Republic, specifically at the Dubenecký Sandstone quarry.
