Evropské hlavní město kultury 2015 – Komparace projektů kandidujících měst Ostravy a Plzně

Abstract

This thesis analyzes the project candidate cities of Ostrava and Pilsen, the title of European Capital of Culture 2015. The work is the comparison and determination of which should be awarded the title. Programme of the European Capital of Culture, is a longtime project of the European Union, which contributes significantly to the development of cultural and creative cultural ties between the citizens and other cities. It also has a program of the European Capital of Culture significant marketing impact, and the winning city is able to attract many visitors and boost the city on an international level. Hypothetically, it was assumed that the results of this comparison will be more conducive for the Ostrava European Capital of Culture 2015 than Pilsen. After analysis of individual projects, including the final comparison using partial SWOT analysis provided the original hypothesis was not confirmed in the introduction. The authors' conclusion that Pilsen, was more likely to win the competition, the European Capital of Culture 2015.
