Abstract
The main objective of this thesis was to study the family Silphidae, their ecology, biology and implementation of their own research. The landscape is changesby human activities from natural to a mining landscape, especially industrial and mining activities. Human action is devastated landscape, changing not only the look but also reduces species diversity.
Part of this thesis is own research, which was monitored area of interest Havířov - Lower Dry on which three sites were selected, and each of them was placed 7 traps. The first area was formerly a man heavily used and then left undisturbed succession, the second site was reclaimed for farming and the third area is a residential landscape and is located in the city Dolní Suchá.
In my research were captured a total of 595 individuals beetles. In addition to the family Silphidae traps found in individuals families Geotrupidae, Cerambycidae and Carabidae. The highest incidence of family I saw on the other site, which is used
as a farm located on the edge of the forest. The fewest species are recorded here in the urban landscape of Lower dry, which is very segmented into smaller urban areas because houses. The largest representation was Nicrophorus subfamily that is found in all surveyed locations. The research was conducted during the months of May to September.
The aim of this study was to understand the ecological requirements of the family, after comparing the three sites of interest between themselves and the assessment of the possible factors affecting the diversity of communities in the territory.
