Abstract
The dissertation focuses on application possibilities of microorganisms in textile industry wastewater decontamination and degradation, specifically from the factory Nová Mosilana a.s. processing and dying a wool. The aim of the dissertation is to assess the possibilities of chosen organisms’ application in textile industry wastewater treatment with regards to wastewater reuse in the place of origin as a utility water.
The theoretical part is introduced by a textile industry description in the Czech Republic and worldwide and by basic principles of water use throughout textile processing. Further the waste water origin and reuse in the production technology is described as well as synthetic and natural fibres processing. Integral part of the dissertation is explaining the role of microorganisms in purifying the industrial waste water and biodegradable processes possibilities.
The experimental part of the dissertation consists of several experiments, which were performed in the microbiology laboratory JA 122 at the Environmental Engineering Department of HGF VŠB – TU Ostrava, in the laboratory RD 104 at the Centre for Advanced Innovation Technologies of VŠB – TU Ostrava, further in cooperation with Institute of Molecular Biology at the Slovak Academy of Science in Bratislava and in cooperation with Institute of Environmental and Chemical Engineering of Faculty of Chemical Technology at the University of Pardubice. Based on results obtained from the laboratory experiments using actual waste water samples from wool processing the possibilities of microbial degradation were evaluated for the process of textile industry waste water treatment as well as the waste water reuse option for the textile industry in general.
