Abstract

This work deals with the GSM-R system (Global System for Mobile Communications - Railway) and its roles and functions in ensuring the operation of rail transport. GSM-R is a specialized radio communication system designed for the needs of railway operations and integrated into the European Rail Traffic Management System (ERTMS). The work focuses on important components of GSM-R, including trackside infrastructure and onboard train equipment. It also discusses interoperability and the role of GSM-R in providing safe and efficient communication across different countries. In conclusion, it addresses practical implementations and possibilities for analysing this system.
