Abstract
For my thesis I have chosen the theme Liability for faults in providing services at the travel agency Canaria Travel Ltd.
The aim of this thesis is to minimize the amount of received complaints and their subsequent fulfilment. Prevention of complaints is the pursuit of every travel agency and they should also follow the rule “The customer is always right.” I tried to set up certain recommendations to minimize complaints and their efficient fulfilment both for the clients and for the travel agency. Essentially these were recommendation how the clients of the travel agency Canaria Travel should proceed with choosing their tour or with drawing up a travel contract and with particular types of travel insurance. What they should be careful of, who to apply to in a case of problems, what are the advantages and disadvantages of effecting an insurance and what is its purpose. Next problem I have mention is how to lodge a claim and what right the client has for the compensations for detriments. Concerning the travel agency their aim is to gain content client who gladly buys a tour with the agency and will be the most satisfied.
In the first part called “Legal framework of travel agencies enterprise” I tried to characterise what a travel agency is, define its business activity. Next question are conditions of gaining a trade licence. After that I focused on tourist services – their ranking and characters, and consequently I try to describe services and functions of a travel agency. A drawing up of a travel contract is a necessary part of every tour, that is why I mentioned it in my thesis and try to explain and specify it. At the end of this chapter I wrote out the organisations that are occupied with travel enterprise in the Czech Republic or abroad.
The second part called “Liability for faults in a travel agency” is focused on a brief description of liability of travel agency and who to apply to in a case of problems with execution of travel contract – so-called delegate. I also explained questions connected with mandatory insurance of guarantee which every travel agency has to have arranged, and questions of insurance, especially travel insurance and its particular types. At the end I mention general information about complains rules.
The third part called “A description of a travel agency” focused on a description or proximity of general information about CK Canaria Travel and what destinations this agency is focused on. An information about the travel contract is also a part of this chapter.
The fourth part called “A client of a travel agency and his right for compensation for detriment” focuses on particular customer or client and who this is. At the end I am concerned with concrete examples of complaints of particular customers and their right for compensations for detriment. At the end I set up recommendations and principles both for the clients and for the travel agency which could lead to minimise the complaints.
